IBES has the expertise and experience to conduct a review of the building envelope architectural plans. The review identifies any potential discontinuities in the air, vapour, and water barriers and areas with inadequate or reduced thermal insulation. The review will focus on areas where the building envelope has penetrations (e.g. structural, mechanical, electrical), transitions (e.g. wall-foundation, wall-roof, wall-window), and locations with complex geometries that may be difficult to seal. Specific building details and/or amendments would be produced for the areas where potential problems may exist in order to ensure a high quality building envelope is constructed that has minimal air leakage or thermal bridging. Where applicable, material selection consultation and recommendations for the building envelope can also be provided.
